peter(10-19-07)I feel the team hade no life goingdown the stretch drive, towards the playoffs. It is willie job to motoviate his guys, and that wasnt done.

Posted by Anonymous (08/24/2007):
cala delgato needs to seat a fw out he lost his timing and has no idea what the pitch is green to 1st a better hitter

Posted by Anonymous (08/03/2007):
luis castillo this is baseballguy anything is posible, and the mets are playing as good as anybody else, or beter.

Posted by Big Hak (08/01/2007):
They need to just let the young kids pitch and stop sending them up and down. I love Pedro and Tommy and El Duque, but they've got to let the kids loose Maine is the man, and Oliver is okay most of the time, but let Pelfry and Humber do the thing man. And i don't understand the trade for Castillo, i think Gotay was doing a very nice job.

Posted by Jerome v (07/13/2007):
They could defintely use a quality starting pitcher however they are in first with a piece meal staff; and they know the meaning of what it takes to be a TEAM!!!!!!! BEST TEAM IN THIS STATE!!!

Posted by paymeb4ugo. (07/11/2007):
Let's not forget PEDRO is going to be back soon. I think just his presance will inspire the team to go on and win it all.

Posted by Barry Williford (06/27/2007):
Please tell them to trade for a starting pitcher they starting pitching is suspect.

Posted by Barry Williford (06/27/2007):
The Mets would win everything if they trade for a starting pitch of quailty talent. I mean sone who you know who could stop you from lossing a series.

i think the mets have a pretty good team this year, barring all the injuries on the team. maybe the pitching could be a little deeper. i miss seeing shawn green playing. unfortunate what happened. we have a great broadcasting team, hernandez, darling, cohen. great bunch of guys. willie randolph great manager. knows what he wants from the team. very level headed.

Posted by Anonymous (06/01/2007):
They so, far have the best record in National Lead and they can steal base and when they are beind they still can come back and win games

Posted by Indiana Rick (05/30/2007):
They are lookin' great this year, but expecting them to win the World Series may be expecting a bit too much.

2007 New York Mets News

August 5, 2007: When the NYMets move to their new ball park in 2009, the NYMets plan on replacing the old 582-pound plaster apple that pops up every time the NYMets hit a home run. However, there are a number of fans that want to save the old apple and have it installed in the new ball park. There is even a NYMets fan website that has been started with a petition to save the apple. If you believe the NYMets should keep the old apple, you can sign the petition at SaveTheApple.com.

August 5, 2007: The NYMets have come back to lead the National League over the last two weeks. However, they are only two games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks, so the NYMets' lead is not that strong (yet).

June 24, 2007: NYMets catcher Paul Lo Duca was ejected from Saturday night's game (June 23rd) against Oakland during the 6th inning when he got in an argument with the umpire over a strike that was called against him. In a rage, he started tossing equipment all over the field. You can view at least part of his outburst here. The NYMets won the game 1-0.

June 24, 2007: Over the last few weeks, the NYMets have blown the clear lead they had in the National League. The NYMets have now slid to 4th place with Milwaukee in the lead. On the bright side, the NYMets still lead in the Eastern Division and are only about 4 games behind Milwaukee. The NYMets can still win the season if they just get their act back together.

May 20, 2007: It is still early in the season, but the NYMets have taken a clear lead in the National League Statndings. The NYMets have won 66.7% of their games, while the closest team to them is Milwaukee with 60.5% of their games won.

May 6, 2007: NYMets pitchers Hernandez, Martinez, Padilla, Sanchez and Williams are all currently on the disabled list. Infielder Jose Valentin is also on the list. Let's hope the NYMets can go a while without any more injuries.

April 2, 2007: The NYMets won the first game of the 2007 season by whipping last year's World Series Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1, on April 1st.

February 1, 2007: The NYMets will start arriving at their Spring Training camp in Port St. Lucie, FL on Feb. 16. The NYMets first Spring Training game will be against the Detroit Tigers on Feb. 28. The NYMets first official game of the season will be on April 1st (Sunday) in St. Loius against the Cardinals.

The National League Standings that used to be posted here can be found on the Stats/Standings page. They had always been posted there anyway.
